Banda Aceh, MINA – Government of Aceh through Dayah Education Office will provide vocational education in pesantren (Islamic Boarding School) to equip students with skills.
Head of Aceh’s Dayah Education Office, Usamah El-Madny, in Banda Aceh said the vocational education was a provision for students after completing their studies at pesantren, thus quoted from Republika on Saturday, October 26.
“With this vocational education, the students have skills after completing their education at dayah or pesantren,” said Usamah.
In addition to vocational education, continued Usamah, Aceh Dayah Education Office will also provide strengthening of pesantren curriculum and increase teacher competency.
“In Aceh, there are 1,136 dayahs accredited with the number of students reaching 16,200 people. With this number, the availability of teachers is sufficient and adequate,” Usamah El-Madny said.
Osama said that Aceh Government paid the same attention as dayah education and public schools because both of them were educational institutions that gave birth to quality Acehnese generations.
He said, with the existence of pesantren law and Qanun Aceh No. 9 of 2018 concerning dayah education, it became a constitutional obligation for Aceh Government to advance dayah education. (T/Sj/P2)
