Israeli settlers break into al-Aqsa Mosque with police escort.
Ramallah, MINA – Some 722 radical Jewish settlers broke into Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem early Tuesday, carrying out another act of aggression against the holy Islamic shrine, KUNA reported, citing the Council of Islamic Awqaf (endowment) in Jerusalem.

The settlers intruded into the holy mosque’s court under the protections of the Israeli police, Head of media and public relations in the council Feras Al-Debes said.
The so-called Temple Mount and Eretz Yisrael (Land of Israel) Faithful Movement called for wide incursions into the mosque on the occasion of “Tisha BA’v”, a Jewish holiday held in remembrance of the destruction of the temple.
The settlers organized a march in Jerusalem Old City early Tuesday, and they destroyed a number of Palestinian shops.
Meanwhile, the Israeli Police closed Jerusalem streets to facilitate the entrance of the radical settlers to Jerusalem’s Old City and Al-Bouraq courtyard.

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry condemned in a statement the incursion of Al-Aqsa Mosque, as well as the strict security measure taken against the Jerusalemites. (T/RS5/RS1)
