Gaza, 28 Dzulhijjah 1435/22 October 2014 (MINA) – Spokesman of Palestinian Interior ministry in Gaza, Ihal Al-Ghusain, stated that he expected new Indonesian president, Joko widodo committed to pay attention to Palestinian struggle and Al Agsa.
“Palestinians considered Indonesians as brother. Indonesians always pay attention about Palestine issue, ” Al-Ghusain told Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA)’s correspondent on Sunday.
Al-Ghasin also expected Indonesia opened an embassy in Palestine.
When Palestine declared its independence on November, 16, 1988, Indonesia was one of nations which supported it. Indonesia also welcomed the opening of Palestine ambassador in Jakarta. However, Israeli allies, including UN did not consider it.

Indonesia also supported Palestine as a state observer in UN on November, 29, 2012. Most voters supported the proposal but US used the veto right to refuse it.
Indonesian government gave humanitarian aids from year to year, including the training for Palestinians in infrastructure, economics, agriculture and scholarship.
Indonesian people from various associations also gave various humanitarian aids to victims of Israeli attack in Gaza strip. The most famous help from Indonesian people is Indonesia Hospital which built in north Gaza. It is the mandate from Indonesian people to Palestine through Medical Emergency Rescue-Committee (MER-C).(L/K02/P009/R03)
