      Jakarta, 23 Safar 1434/5 January 2012 (MINA) – Indonesian Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa said Friday that the government has drafted a grand design for the protection of the citizens abroad.

 

      He committed that the protection of citizens abroad is a priority agenda of diplomacy and foreign policy in 2013. The prevention aspect, early detection, and protection is the main agenda.

      Marty also said that in 2012, prevention efforts have resulted by decreasing reported problem cases of citizens abroad up to 50%. From 38 880 cases in 2011 to 19,218 cases in 2012.

 

      Of course, every issue are treated as a priority. Without exception, from legal cases involving Indonesian workers to rescue and protection of citizens from natural disasters and political instability.
