Israel to Build Additional Buildings in Ibrahimi Mosque
Jerusalem, MINA – Israeli Media Channel 7 on Monday published an Israeli plan to build additional buildings at the Ibrahimi Mosque in the southern city of Hebron in the West Bank.
The Hebrew news channel, as quoted by Safa, said that the project would cost around half a million shekels, including the procurement of elevators for the disabled and other additional buildings for using by Jewish settlers.
It was stated that the coordinator of occupation government affairs of Kamil Abu Rokon had sent a letter to the Palestinian city of Hebron last month, asking them to ratify the work plan.
The letter also said that the rejection of project would mean forcing the military hand down in the area and would continue to do the work unilaterally.
The news channel also explained that the responsibility of Ibrahimi Mosque area follows the interests of Muslims in Hebron based on the Hebron agreement. But if the city government refuses the project, it will still be implemented.
Israeli Occupation Authority has recently accelerated steps to take control of large parts of Hebron, especially the center, by increasing confiscation of Palestinian property under false pretenses and fraud supported by the courts. (T/Sj/P2)
