Jakarta, MINA – Indonesia Ministry of Transportation has banned Boeing 737 MAX aircraft from flying temporarily. This decision was taken as an impact of the Ethiopian Airlines accident.

“One of the steps that will be taken by the Directorate General of Transportation is to conduct an inspection of temporary grounded methods, to ensure the condition of the aircraft is airworthy and the step has been approved by the Minister of Transportation,” said Polana B Director General of Civil Aviation Pramesti in a written statement on Monday as qouted from Detik News.

This policy was taken to ensure that aircraft operating in Indonesia were in flight-worthy conditions. During the inspection period, Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft owned by Indonesian airlines may not air.

The Ministry of Transportation has been overseeing the operation of Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft since the 30 October 2018 post-accident JT610. At that time, if there was a problem or finding the results of an inspection, the aircraft was immediately grounded in place.
