20 Migrant Workers Killed in Thailand Bus Fire
Ankara, MINA – Twenty migrant workers from Myanmar were killed during a blaze aboard a double-decker bus in Thailand’s western Tak province early Friday, Anaolu Agency reported, citing local media.
Bangkok Post said the victims were heading to a factory in an industrial area in Bangkok when the incident took place.
The cause of the fire so far remains unknown.
The Post quoted police Lt. Raewat Aiemtak as saying that 27 people had managed to escape the fire; one of the injured was severely burnt.
The incident came only nine days after a tour bus went off the road, killing 18 people and injuring 33 others.
On March 22, the country suffered from yet another accident when a school bus lost its balance because of the rain, injuring 39 people. (T/RS5/RS1)
