PCOM WELCOMES MALAYSIA’S STAND ON BANNING “ISRAELI” PRESENCE IN THE COUNTRY

2p1_Kuala Lumpur, 18 Rabiul Awwal 1437/29 December 2015 (MINA) – As the Ministry of Youth & Sports followed the requirements of “no relations with Israel” policy and banned the appearance of Apartheid Israel in Malaysia, the Palestinian Cultural Organization Malaysia (PCOM), welcomes and values this expected move from the official bodies in the country.

Malaysian government and people have always shown a strong stance against the oppressor “Israeli” occupation, and continue to prove their will to support the Palestinian people, .

We believe that Malaysia will always stand by the right and just Cause of Palestine, according to statement released today by PCOM.

We encourage all efforts to boycott Apartheid “Israel” and hope that more local and international moves and policies will follow in this direction.

More than 400 athletes from 80 countries are participating in the International Sailing Federation 2015 (ISAF) Youth World Championships from 27 December through 3 January.

The Malaysian government announced Sunday that it had accepted the withdrawal of two Israeli windsurfers from competing in the tournament in the Malaysian archipelago of Langkawi.

Amir Gill, chairman of the Israel association, also told local media that Malaysia had placed “unacceptable” demands by forbidding athletes from carrying their country’s flag or wearing any symbol on their attire and surfboards that showed their country of origin.(T/R05)
