Al-Quds, 20 Jumadil Awwal 1438/17 February 2017 (MINA) – Tens of thousands of Palestinian worshipers performed Friday prayer at al-Aqsa Mosque amid very tight Israeli restrictions throughout occupied Jerusalem.

The Palestinian Awqaf Department revealed that more than 40,000 worshipers managed to perform Friday prayers at the Mosque, the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) reported..

Quds Press also affirmed that tens of thousands of Palestinians from occupied Jerusalem, within the Green Line, and the West Bank had gone to Islam’s third-holiest site, for the Friday prayer.

Tight military restrictions were imposed throughout the occupied city since the early morning hours where several Palestinian vehicles were stopped and searched.

Heavy armed Israeli border guards were deployed throughout the city while military helicopters were flying over the area. (T/R04/RS05)
