From Cairo, WAM reported that Arab League Secretary-General, Dr. Ahmed Aboul-Gheit, has expressed his disappointment at the UN Security Council, UNSC, for failing to reach a unified stand for a ceasefire agreement in Aleppo, Syria.

The agreement would have allowed the entry of urgent humanitarian aid to Aleppo, in addition to the evacuation of the sick and wounded from the city.

The Secretary-General is hoping that UNSC’s members “rise above their differences and find ways to solve the ongoing crisis in Aleppo”.(T/R07/R01)
