Gaza Strip, 6 Shafar 1436/29 November 2014 (MINA) – The heavy rain which hit the Gaza Strip since Wednesday morning caused some regions in the blockaded territory flooded and thousands of homes drowned.

Gazans who are basically the refugees, forced to flee again to the school buildings due to the floods.

Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) correspondent in Gaza reported that, since the last three days rain in the Gaza Strip accompanied by strong winds caused worse condition especially in refugee camps.

One of the areas which were hit by the flood are Syari Annafaq in eastern Gaza. Evacuation team of civil defense asked the residents in the region to immediately vacate their homes.

“The area has expirienced flood as in December 2013 and residents in the area had to flee to refugee camps,” said MINA’s correspondent.

Gazans who have recently become a victim due to the Israeli military aggression that destroyed at least 80 thousand homes.

Until now, most of Gazans whose their homes were destroyed have not built their adequate house. Most of them live in containers measuring 30 square meters and others build simple tents.

Previously Israeli has agreed to let the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, which is a part of the points of ceasefire agreement mediated by Egypt.(L/P008/R03)
