Thousands of Egyptian held Eid Al Adha prayer in Mohandisien Saturday.

Cairo, 10 Dhulhijja 1435/4 October 2014 (MINA) –  Thousands of Egyptian citizens flocked today, morning, to Mustafa Mahmoud square in El Mohndsien district to perform Eid Al-Adha prayer.

Meanwhile, the square witnesses intensified security to secure the citizens, Egypt’s El Balad quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

The security forces spread in the vicinity of the square in anticipation of any riots.

Egyptian President Abd El Fattah El Sisi performed Eid Al Adha prayer today morning in “Al-Sayeda Safeya” mosque in Heliopolis.

El Sisi performed the prayer with grand Imam of Al Azhar Ahmed El Taieb, defense minister Sedky Sobhy, Prime Minister Ibrahim Mehlab, interior minister Mohamed Ibrahim and a number of ministers and army commanders.

Moreover, Imam of the mosque praised El Sisi’s Speech in UN General Assembly, explaining that his speech had deep impact in Egyptians’ hearts, without mentioning sparked criticism from opotition who protest against it.

Muslims celebrate Eid Al Adha to mark the end of the hajj pilgrimage by slaughtering sheep, goats, cows and camels to commemorate Prophet Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his son on God’s command.(T/R04/R03)
