Doha, 4 Muharram 1437/17 October 2015 (MINA) – Chairman of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, Sheikh Youssef al-Qaradawi, Saturday called on Muslims across the globe to take urgent steps in solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian people and in support for the holy al-Aqsa Mosque.

Sheikh Qaradawi warned, in a statement posted on his website, of the serious upshots of simmering Israeli violence in Occupied Jerusalem.

“It’s the time or never! Alarm bells have been sounded!” he said addressing Muslim masses, The Palestinian Information Center (PIC) quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

“Occupied Jerusalem is crying for help,” the scholar stated, warning of Israel’s preplanned attempts to grab hold of the city and wipe out its Islamic identity.

“Occupied Jerusalem does not belong to Palestinians only. It also belongs to every single Arab and every single Muslim,” Qaradawi further said.

“We would like to notify those who have gone absentminded; wake up those who have been daydreaming; remind those who have forgotten; back the ones who have been terrified; boost the will of those who have felt insecure,” Sheikh Qaradawi said.

“We would also like to lay bare the cowards and join forces with activists who have been refusing to throw in the towel and took it upon themselves to either live in dignity of die as martyrs,” the academic concluded.(T/P008/R07)
