Qatar Helps 100 Thousand for Poor Families in Gaza
Gaza, MINA – Chairman of Qatar Committee for Gaza Reconstruction, Muhammad Al-Amadi, distributed aid to 100,000 poor families in Gaza, Palestine, each of them received the US $100.
Amadi arrived in Gaza via the Bet Hanun crossing. He brought a number of donations to continue Qatar aid projects for Gaza reconstruction.
Israel launched military aggression into Gaza on July 7, 2014, which killed 2,320 Palestinians, destroyed 12 thousand homes in total, and damaged tens of thousands of homes, as quoted from Palestinian Information Center (Palinfo) on Saturday, October 26.
A number of donor countries promised in early October 2014, to provide assistance worth the US $5.4 billion, half for the reconstruction of Gaza, while half for needs of Palestinians.
Qatar became one of the countries that actively sent aid to Gaza and appointed Ambassador Amadi as chair of Qatar committee for Gaza reconstruction.
Gaza is currently still blocked by Israel, land, sea, and air, which has triggered crises in various sectors of life. Ironically, Palestinian authorities are involved in the blockade by detaining and reducing the rights that should have been channeled into Gaza. (T/Sj/P2)
