Presiden Abbas’ UN Speech a Crossroad, says Spokesman
Ramallah, MINA – “The speech by President Mahmoud Abbas at the United Nations General Assembly on Thursday represents a crossroad and paves the way for a new stage in handling the serious challenges facing our people,” Nabil Abu Rudeineh, spokesman for President Abbas, said on Tuesday.
He said, “The president’s speech will include an outlook for a comprehensive national strategy that will leave a profound impact on events in the region and in the world,” stressing that “without Jerusalem and the holy places there will be no just and lasting peace in the region, and without Jerusalem there will be no solution. The whole region will remain in the cycle of endless instability and wars.”
Abu Rudeineh said the Palestinian people will remain steadfast on their land and will hold on to it and will foil with their steadfastness all conspiracies, regardless of where it came from, WAFA news Agency reported.
He pointed out that “the last 100 years war since the Balfour Declaration until today confirms that the will of our people in steadfastness and holding firm to their land, rights and holy places will not be broken.”
He stressed that “the Palestinians as a whole are required at this critical stage to take national responsibility, especially from what we see of plots and schemes aimed at dividing the Arab region and destroy it.”
“There is no legitimacy to any deals, decisions or actions rejected by our people and their legitimate national leadership, and without commitment to international and Arab legitimacy,” he said.
The presidential spokesman also stressed that “the legitimate Palestinian leadership headed by President Mahmoud Abbas will continue to reject the dubious deals, and will remain steadfast and adheres to the national constants whatever the pressures and sacrifices.” He pointed out that “our people, with their national will and steadfastness, is what will achieve victory in the end.”(R/R04/RS5)
