Palestine Condemns Support for West Bank Annexation
Ramallah, MINA – Spokesman for Palestinian President, Nabil Abu Rudeineh condemned support of annexation on West Bank of Jordan River.
Abu Rudeineh stressed that any procedure or decision that affects the national rights of Palestinian people and international legal resolutions must be seen as illegitimate, Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) reported on Tuesday.
He issued the statement in response to media reports that Israeli Prime Minister was trying to get open announcement from the US President Donald Trump to recognize Israel’s sovereignty over some occupied West Bank territory.
Abu Rudeineh warned that such an action would has serious impact. The move will follow the US recognition of Jerusalem as Capital of Israel.
The breakthrough of Jewish settlers into Al-Aqsa Mosque complex and the US attitudes regarding the issue of Palestinian refugees and salaries for families of Palestinian prisoners, and those killed by Israeli forces.
“This stepif was taken, will be the act of playing fire that continues,” he said.
Abu Rudeineh stressed that stability and security cannot be separated and peace cannot be achieved somehow. “No step will uphold (for Israelis) rights, nor will create false reality that can last,” he said.
In conclusion, Abu Rudeineh reiterated that Palestinians would defend their sacred sites, heritage, history, and national rights, no matter how long they would last, and expressed their hopes that justice and legitimacy of Palestinian people would finally be realized. (T/Sj/P2)
