Palestine Circus Festival to Generate Palestinian’s Identity and Culture

Bethlehem, MINA – Several international Circus groups will perform at the Palestinian Circus Festival on September 27. The festival that aims to generate the Palestinian’s identity and culture.

The festival organizer said, the Palestinian Circus School and the Nablus Circus School, released a press statement saying, “the festival is a unique entertainment outlet and an inclusive and diverse cultural forum in Palestine.” Ma’an News reported.

“The festival aims to strengthen the social and physical creativity of Palestinians and to unite their talents with international groups under the art of circus and to integrate and enable them to become active members in order to highlight Palestinian identity and culture,” They added.

The festival will be held starting from September 27 to October 6 at 32 locations throughout the occupied West Bank such as, Al-Quds, Ramallah, al-Bireh, Nablus, Hebron, Bethlehem, Jenin, Tulkarm, Birzeit and refugee camps, along with the Gaza Strip which besieged, and also Amman, the capital of Jordan.

International circus teams from Argentina, the United Kingdom, Chile, and France will participate in the Palestine Circus Festival, with more than 12 shows and under the theme “United for Freedom.”

The European Union (EU), Development of Swedish Cooperation in Palestine and the Swiss Foundation Drosos support this festival.

Palestinian cellular operator Jawwal is the main sponsor of the festival and supported by media sponsorship among other Raya FM radio, and its advertising sponsor is Sky Advertising.

The Palestinian Circus School is a non-profit organization, founded in Ramallah in 2006 to teach and develop the circus art of Palestinians. The school trains more than 230 students each year. Eight circus performances have been produced in 12 years which are shown to more than 108,000 local and foreign audiences. (T/SJ/RS5)
