OIC Salutes Resilience of Palestinian People
A number of Palestinians are fighting against Israel’s restrictions on Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Jeddah, MINA – The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) expressed its satisfaction that the Palestinian worshippers are able to enter the compounds of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, after the Israeli occupation forces had removed the electronic gates.
According to SPA, the OIC also saluted the resilience of the Palestinian people which forced the Israeli government to submit to their will through their resilience, steadfastness and cohesion under the leadership of President Mahmoud Abbas.
The OIC renewed its call to the international community to assume its responsibility for getting Israel to abide by the international resolutions, treaties and instruments that guarantee protection of the Islamic holy sites, especially that Al-Quds Al-Shareef is part of the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967, and to which international law and the Geneva Conventions apply.
In addition, the UNESCO resolutions affirmed that the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque is an entirely Islamic holy site.
The OIC also stressed that the two-state solution and the establishment of the Palestinian State with Al-Quds Al-Shareef as its capital on the basis of international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab peace initiative is the only way to achieve peace and stability in the region.
The OIC further emphasized that it will continue to support the resilience and steadfastness of the Palestinian people in their city and confront any attempts to Judaize it. (T/RS5/RS1)
