OIC Information Ministers Call For Interaction With Foreign Media To Support Islamic Issues

Jeddah, 22 Rabi’ul Awwal 1438/22 December 2016 (MINA) – The 11th session of the Islamic Conference of Information Ministers, which concluded in Jeddah on Wednesday, called on the OIC Groups of Ambassadors in the foreign countries to pay attention to the media activity and interact with the foreign media to support Islamic causes.

The conference was held under the theme of “The Role of New Media in Confronting Terrorism and Islamophobia.” IINA News reported.

The information ministers also underlined the need for the establishment of closer ties with the civil society institutions in the OIC member states, and coordination with them to serve the issues of the Islamic Ummah in the fields of media and public relations.

They further called for making use of young Muslims studying abroad and the Muslim communities living in non-member countries of the OIC.(T/P008/R07)
