Nine Countries Joins The Archery Invitation Tournament of Asian Games in Jakarta

Jakarta, MINA – At least 98 athletes from nine countries has arrived in Jakarta to play in Archery test event of Asian Games 2018 which took place  on February 10-15 in Archery Field of Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta.

The nine countries started from Taiwan, Hongkong, Japan, Mongolia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Laos and Indonesia as the host.

According to Competition Manager of Asian Archery Tournament Invitation, Ary Koeswiranto, the athletes started to try out the field on Friday, (9/2).

The nine sports that will be contested in “Road to Asian Games 2018” are archery, athletics, basketball, boxing, football, martial arts, taekwondo, volleyball and weightlifting. The test event is followed by 18 countries.

The 2018 Asian Games event test activities were conducted in a number of areas, Gelora Bung Karno (GBK), homestead athletes, and JIExpo.

The Asian Games XVIII / 2018 will take place August 18 – September 2, 2018, matching 40 sports, 67 disciplines and 462 match numbers. The number of athletes who will compete themselves is estimated to reach approximately 10,000 participants.

The Asian Games were first held in New Delhi, India, in 1951 and first held in Indonesia in 1962. (L/RE1/P2)
