Jakarta, 14 Safar 1436/7 December 2014 (MINA) – Imaam of Jama’ah Muslimin (Hizbullah), Muhyiddin Hamidy, urged the UN and the international community to immediately reveal Israel’s nuclear weapons.

“Israeli nuclear facilities must be disclosed. It is to free world from nuclear weapons or mass destruction weapons,” Hamidy said in a press release in Jakarta, Saturday on Dec. 6.

He emphasized that the UN resolution in the General Assembly on Tuesday Dec. 2 about Israel’s nuclear weapons asked Israel to immediately ratify the  Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). This was based to the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty.

Voting of the resolution draft resulted 161 countries supporting it, 18 countries abstain and 5 countries refusing it. Five countries that were refusing it included the United States (US), Israel, Canada, Palau and Micronesia.

Israel is the only country that have not ratified the nonproliferation treaty of nuclear weapons.

 Israel should be prosecuted

Speaking about the conditions in the Gaza Strip, Palestine, Imaam Muhyiddin Hamidy said Israel had to be responsible for it. They have to be prosecuted for war and humanity crimes that they did so far.

“Cruel Israeli actions against the Palestinians, the destruction of public facilities and the massacre of Gazans are clearly evidence of war crimes. This should not be allowed,” said Hamidy

“According to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, their criminal acts could threaten the peace, security and safety of the world. Such actions also violated the August 12, 1949 Geneva Conventions,” he added.

Regarding aid to the Gaza Strip, Hamidy reminded the Muslim countries and advanced countries to contribute for the reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts in Gaza.

“We remind the countries that have committed to assist Gaza on Rehabilitation Conference in Cairo last October, including Indonesia to realize their commitment as soon as possible ,” he said. (L/P009/P3).
