Jerusalem, 19 Jumadil Awwal 1438/16 February 2017 (MINA) – Minister of Jerusalem Affairs Governor Adnan Husseini said the public statement of the Israeli Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan that Al Aqsa Mosque is for Jews only is an extremely dangerous one, WAFA reported.
He said during a press conference on Wednesday that Al Aqsa Mosque is being subjected to the biggest attempt to end the status quo, while referring to recent statements by Erdan who said that the “Temple Mount was the holiest site for the Jewish people – and only for the Jewish people.”

“What is happening in Jerusalem is unprecedented, especially the ongoing and frequent violations as well as attempts to perform religious prayers at the mosque.”
Husseini added, “Not to mention the ongoing digging under and around the mosque and trying to empty it to serve the Talmudic narrative.”
He pointed out to Israeli attempts to install moving stalls in the yard to shield Israeli police from the rain saying that allowing the entry of anything by Israel only means that they are trying to change the status quo.
“We have lived the experience in al-Ibrahimi mosque in Hebron and other locations.” He said Israel will try again to change things while continue to hinder any efforts by the Palestinians to carry out necessary maintenance work.
