ISRAELI TRUCK RUNS OVER SIX-YEAR-OLD PALESTINIAN
Hebron, 9 Rajab 1436/28 April 2015 (MINA)– A six-year-old Palestinian was injured after he was run over by an Israeli truck in Yatta in southern Hebron on Tuesday.
Medical sources described Zakariya Mahmoud al-Umour’s injuries as moderate to serious.
The Israeli liaison said that the child had been taken in an Israeli ambulance to Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba in Israel, Maan News Agency quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.
Israeli policehave opened an investigation into the accident.
The Israeli Civil Administration requested that the child’s family go to their offices to obtain visit permits.
Although the nature of the accident remains unclear, there have been incidents in the past of Israelis — particularly settlers — intentionally hitting Palestinians with their cars in the occupied West Bank.
There have also been hit-and-run attacks against Israelis, including an alleged attack that left four Israeli police officers injured in East Jerusalem on Saturday. (T/P010/R04)
