Occupied Jerusalem, MINA – The Israeli occupation forces on Thursday morning prevented Palestinian learners enrolled at al-Aqsa’s religious school from attending classes.

A PIC news correspondent said the Israeli police deployed at al-Aqsa’s Asbat Gate detained 160 Palestinian learners on account that they carried books with a Palestinian curriculum, PIC reported.

Head of Jerusalem’s Education Department, Najeh Bkeirat, called on the students to maintain vigil outside al-Aqsa until they are allowed access into their classrooms.

Dr. Bkeirat, along with instructor Rubin Muhssin, were arrested by the Israeli cops shortly afterwards and transferred to an Israeli detention center.

At the same time, the occupation forces stormed the Orphan’s Islamic School in Jerusalem’s Old City and arrested two schoolchildren.

The assault makes part of Israeli attempts to Judaize Palestinian and Islamic schools in the holy occupied city of Jerusalem.(T/R04/RS5)
