Israeli forces attack West Bank protests against Israel’s Nation-State Law, injuries reported
Ramallah, MINA — Several Palestinian protestors, including a journalist, were shot and injured, and dozens others suffocated on Monday as hundreds of Palestinians rallied across multiple West Bank districts in protest against Israel’s Nation-State Law, said local sources, WAFA reported.
A Palestinian journalist was shot and injured with a rubber-coated steel bullet and others suffocated during clashes that broke out with Israeli forces at the northern entrance of al-Bireh city near Beit El Israeli settlement, north of Ramallah, said local sources.
Israeli forces used tear gas canisters, stun grenades, and rubber-coated steel bullets against Palestinian protesters, who responded by burning tires and throwing rocks at the soldiers.
A journalist was stuck in the leg with a rubber-coated steel bullet during the clashes. Several suffocation cases were also reported among protesters.
Meanwhile, similar clashes broke out in the village of al-Lubban ash-Sharqiya, south of Nablus, in the northern West Bank, however, no injuries were reported.
Clashes also broke out in Bab al-Zawya area of Hebron city, in the southern West Bank, causing a number of protesters to suffocate due to tear gas inhalation. They were all treated at the scene.
Forces also attacked Palestinians who rallied in Kufr Qaddoum town, east of Qalqilia. The army forces stormed the town amid the heavy firing of rubber-coated steel bullets and tear gas canisters toward protesters, injuring three Palestinians with rubber bullets. Dozens others suffocated from the tear gas. They were all treated at the scene.
Meanwhile, army soldiers attacked a similar rally that took place in Qalandia refugee camp, shooting and injuring a youth with live ammunition in his back. He was taken to hospital for treatment.
Three others were stuck with stun grenades, causing them various burns and wounds. They were treated at the scene. Dozens of suffocation cases were also reported.
Forces further attacked protesters who gathered at Qalandia checkpoint with live and rubber baton rounds, tear gas canisters, and stun grenades. The attack left multiple people injured.
