ISRAELI ARMY CARRIES OUT A LIMITED INVASION INTO GAZA
Gaza, 3 Sha’ban 1435/1 June 2014 (MINA)- A number of armored Israeli military vehicles invaded Palestinian farmlands, east of Rafah and Khan Younis cities, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, and opened fire at random before uprooting farmlands.
The Palestinian News & Info Agency (WAFA) has reported that four tanks and two armored military bulldozers, stationed at the Kissufim military base across the border, advanced more than 200 meters into Palestinian farmlands, and fired rounds of live ammunition at nearby homes.
The army uprooted farmlands in the area while Israeli drones, and a few army helicopters, were flying over the besieged coastal region.
Soldiers frequently conduct limited invasions into the Gaza Strip amongst ongoing assaults and violations against Palestinian farmers and workers, in Palestinian lands close to the border fence. The attacks are part of ongoing violations against fishers and their boats, in Palestinian territorial waters, and even while docked at the shore.
Earlier this May, Several Israeli military vehicles and bulldozers invaded Palestinian agricultural lands, east of Khuza’a town, east of Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, and uprooted the lands while firing rounds of live ammunition. Israeli soldiers frequently invade border areas in the eastern and northern parts of the Gaza Strip, uproot lands, and prevent Palestinian farmers and workers from entering them.
The Palestinians are not allowed to enter their own lands due to their proximity to the “security fence”, and the “no man zone” Israel illegally enforces across the border with Gaza.(T/Nidiya/P04)
