Islamic Media Conference for Humanitarian Solidarity

Jakarta, 26 Rajab 1437/4 May 2016 (MINA) – The implementation of the International Conference of Islamic Media (ICIM) 2016 which was held in Jakarta, 25-26 May, needs to be appreciated for humanitarian solidarity. The Chairman of Central Executive (PP) Indonesian Mosque Council (DMI) Muhammad Natsir Zubaidi told Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) in Jakarta, Tuesday (3/5).

“It’s not just for Solidarity to Palestine, but more importantly for the humanitarian solidarity from the Islamic world,” said Natsir.

Due the occupation of Israel to Palestinians, it must be removed, as the state of the preamble of the 1945 state constitution. Thus, the ICIM should be utilized as much as possible.

Moreover, he said, the meeting of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Istanbul was still not able to unite the Islamic world. It appeared from the absence of Egypt which is still in dispute with Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Iran are also still in the conflict relating to Syria.

Natsir hoped that ICIM invite all printed, radio, television and news agencies as well as online media.

“It is the time for the Islamic media to formulate a great program and cooperation so we can give objective news about Palestine and Islamic world to international communities,” said Natsir.

Some experts are invited to be the speakers  at the conference, They are;  Dr. Shamsi Ali (USA), Dr. Daud Abdullah (England), Sheikh Ahmad Shoyyan (Saudi Arabia), and Ahmad Ashaaf (Palestine), Dr. Abdul Malik (Nigeria), and Meidyatama Suryodiningrat (Indonesia).(L/P008/R03)
