Islamic Center in Sydney Commemorates Its Anniversary
Jakarta, MINA – Ashabul Kahfi Islamic Center (AKIC), an Indonesian educational Islam organization in Sydney, Australia commemorates the 20th anniversary with holding various themed activities “Preparing a Generation that is Endowed in Millennial Era “.
Written information from the AKIC (Ashabul Kahf Islamic Center) received in Jakarta, Wednesday stated the activities that they held refer to Islam, teach every people to have noble character as taught by the Prophet Muhammad SAW.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary, AKIC has prepared various activities on Sunday at the Korean Society Hall, Croydon Park, New South Wales.
This lively event was filled with various series of activities from morning to evening such as a call to prayer, calligraphy, coloring and memorizing prayers. 35 children aged between 5-10 years participated in enlivening the competition and continued with the friendly meeting of AKIC alumni.
AKIC on that occasion, there are 12 AKIC alumni representatives discussed the best way for AKIC to play a role and make a positive impact on the Indonesian Muslim community in Sydney, especially in facing current millennial challenges.
The various ideas and suggestions emerged from the alumni. Among these are the ideas of using social media as a way to improve information dissemination of activities, whether for the purposes of a missionary campaign in cyberspace or to invite AKIC alumni actively participate in every AKIC activity.
The three keywords in the discussion focused on expanding organizational responsibility which involving young people (shared responsibility), re-engagement AKIC alumni and the realization of the AKIC organization as a joint-owned container which is independent.
This discussion has succeeded in creating a joint forum for AKIC alumni (AKIC Joint Forum Alumni) with the aim of supporting all AKIC activities in achieving their goals to establish a science center and Islamic message (Islamic Center) in Sydney, Australia.
The meeting session was also attended by the Republic of Indonesia Consulate General in Sydney, Heru Hartanto Subolo managed to provide the positive and constructive inputs for AKIC in the future.
Among them are proposals that regarding the AKIC cooperation program within the scope of Indonesian culture by using branding approaches through the latest media and inclusive.
The Meet and See event was concluded with a closing statement by AKIC Founder Dr. Teuku Chalidin Yacob and then proceed to the top event, the Da’wah Akbar presenting by Ari Aldrianzah from the Iqro Foundation.
The Islamic Center for Islam as one of the Islamic educational institutions in Sydney concerned with the establishment of the morality of the young generation of Islam, it is hoped that early on they will continue to be committed and cooperate with other Islamic educational institutions in creating and giving birth to candidates for Australian Islamic leaders who are moral noble like morality of the Prophet Muhammad.
