Jakarta, 21 Syawwal 1437/26 July 2016 (MINA) – The Indonesian government forecast the country’s economy to expand 5.1 percent at the second semester as the spending of development budget rises amid rebound of exports, a key economic minister disclosed here on Monday.

Economic Chief Minister Darmin Nasution said that banking credits have gradually increased in recent months.

“Our exports have indicated a hike in the last three months,” he was quoted by Xinhua as aaying at coordinating ministry office.

Indonesia is gearing up a repatriation of huge funds after the parliament endorsed tax amnesty law last month which may spur a huge influx of funds into the country.

That is expected to help financing President Joko Widodo huge infrastructure projects.

For the whole of this year, the government forecasts the economy to grow 5.3 percent. (T/R07/R01)
