Jakarta, MINA – The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned the Israeli airstrike in Doha, Qatar, on Tuesday. This was conveyed via the official X.

The Ministry stated that the Israeli airstrike in Doha is a severe violation of international law, including the UN Charter, a breach of Qatar’s sovereignty, and a major threat to regional security and peace.

According to the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the attack risks escalating and expanding the conflict in the region.

“Indonesia condemns this aggression and reiterates its call for the UN Security Council to fulfill its mandate by taking immediate and decisive steps to stop Israel’s actions and ensure accountability,” wrote the Ministry in a tweet.

The Ministry reaffirmed Indonesia’s solidarity with the Government and people of Qatar. The government also emphasized its commitment to supporting all diplomatic efforts to achieve a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace in the Middle East.

The Israeli side claimed they were targeting senior Hamas leaders who were in Doha, where the Palestinian group’s political bureau is based.

“The IDF (Israeli military) and ISA (security agency) conducted a precise attack targeting senior leaders of the Hamas terrorist organization,” the Israeli military was quoted as saying by AFP on Tuesday.

The Hamas leaders were reportedly discussing a ceasefire plan proposed by US President Donald Trump. The Trump ceasefire proposal was aimed at de-escalating tensions in the region. []
