Hayya Al-Qassam Brigades Works On Releasing Prisoners
Gaza, 10 Rajab 1437/18 April 2016 (MINA) – Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, affirmed that the Palestinian resistance in general and al-Qassam Brigades in particular is working day and night on the release of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails, Khalil al-Hayya, member of Hamas political bureau, said.
This came in Hayya’s speech in a festival held before the headquarters of the Red Cross in Gaza after a massive march in the city to mark the Palestinian Prisoner Day on Sunday.
The Hamas leader stressed that the issue of Palestinian prisoners is on top of his Movement’s priorities.
He slammed the diplomatic role of the Palestinian, Arab and Muslim authorities for their failure to internationalize the issue of Palestinian captives especially children and women, The Palestinian information Center (PIC) quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA).
He also stressed the importance of national unity in confronting the Israeli occupation. Palestinians on April 17 of each year mark the event of Palestinian Prisoner Day as part of efforts to support Palestinian detainees in Israeli jails.
Israeli authorities detain in its jails 7000 Palestinians distributed in 25 prisons and detention centers. 1500 out of 7000 captives are sick with some of whom in urgent need for surgeries. The number also includes hundreds of female and juvenile detainees in addition to a number of MPs. (T/Imt/R03)
