HANEYYA: HAMAS HAS NO FEAR OF ANY ELECTIONS
Gaza, 1 Jumadal Akhir 1436/21 March 2015 (MINA) – Deputy head of Hamas’s political bureau Ismail Haneyya on Thursday (19/3) said his Movement is not afraid of partaking in any coming elections, calling on the Palestinian people and their leadership to engage in a real national reconciliation.
Speaking at a ceremony held in Gaza to mark the day of the Palestinian accountant, Haneyya stressed the need for activating the unionist, legislative, and presidential elections and work on enforcing the reconciliation agreements, Palestinian Information Center (PIC) quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.
Commenting on Netanyahu’s electoral victory, Haneyya said his Movement was not surprised by the Israeli election results because of the extremist religious and political nature of the Zionist entity.
The Hamas official criticized the Palestinian leaders who wager on the Israeli occupation instead of wagering on their own people, pointing that after 20 years of frivolous peace talks, Benjamin Netanyahu clearly declared that there would be no state for the Palestinians or negotiation with them.
He expressed his belief that the current developments in the Arab region bode well for the Palestinian people and their national cause. (T/P006/P3)
