Grand Sheikh Of Al-Azhar Expected to Tell Islam in Indonesia to tIhe World

Jakarta, 14 Jumadil Awwal 1437/22 February 2016 (MINA) – The Indonesian Minister of Religious Affairs Lukman Hakim Saifuddin expected Al-Azhar Grand Sheikh of Egypt who came to Indonesia could tell the model of Islam in Indonesia to the international community.

“Hopefully he could deliver How Islam is applicated in Indonesia to the world.  The growing of Islam in Indonesia could be a model for Muslims in the world in building Islamic civilization ,” Lukman told Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) on Sunday (21/2 ) at Halim Perdana Kusuma airport, Jakarta, picking up the arrival of the Grand Sheikh of Al-Azhar Prof. Dr. Shaykh Ahmad Muhammad Ahmad Ath-Thayyeb.

In addition, to familiarize Indonesia-Egypt relationship, according to Lukman, Muslims in Indonesia are welcome with the arrival of Sheikh Ath-Thayyeb.

“Sheikh Ath-Thayyeb has been well-known that he’s a figure who  always voice moderate Islamic ideology, Islam rahmatan lil Alamin,” he said.

The Minister Lukman felt that the visit of Sheikh Ath-Thayyeb would be very effective to reduce the radical ideology of the religion in Indonesia.(L/P008/R03)
