Gaza, MINA – The death toll in Gaza has reached at least 65,549 since Israel launched its military campaign on the besieged enclave in October 2023, according to a statement from the Gaza Health Ministry on Friday, Anadolu Agency reported.
In the past 24 hours alone, 47 people were killed and 142 others injured, bringing the total number of wounded to 167,518. The ministry warned that many victims remain trapped under the rubble or on the roads, as emergency crews struggle to access affected areas due to the continued attacks.
Additionally, five Palestinians were reported killed and 33 injured by Israeli fire while attempting to receive humanitarian aid. This raises the total number of aid-seekers killed to 2,543, with more than 18,614 others injured since May 27.
Israel resumed its aggression on March 18, ending a temporary ceasefire and prisoner exchange deal established in January. Since then, 12,939 Palestinians have been killed and 55,335 wounded. []
