Sit-in in Gaza in Solidarity with Qatar
Khan Younis, 15 Ramadan 1438/10 June 2017 (MINA) – Scores of Palestinians in Sheikh Hamad City in Khan Younis participated after Friday prayer in a solidarity sit-in with Qatar in protest at the siege and boycott announced last Monday by four Arab states against the gulf country.
Participants carried Palestinian and Qatari flags as well as banners condemning the siege on Doha and chanted pro-Qatar slogans, the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) reported.
The spokesman of Hamad City Council, Husam Ahmed, condemned the “conspiracy” against Qatar and hailed the country for its support of the Palestinian people including the big re-construction projects such as Sheikh Hamad City which houses hundreds of families, whose houses were destroyed in the Israeli aggression on Gaza.
Each of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Egypt announced on June 05 severing diplomatic relations with Qatar and imposing siege on and unprecedented boycott against it.(T/R04/RS5)
