Israeli Police Shut Down Al-Aqsa Mosque for Muslim Worshippers

Al-Quds, MINA – Israel Occupation Police today, Tuesday, shut down Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem Old City and prevented the Muslim worshippers entering it, Wafa reported.

Islamic Waqf Department, the Muslim endowmnent in charge for the holy place said, the Police abruptly dan in a suprise move shut down all gates1 leading to the walled holy compound and prevented all Muslims from all ages entering it.

Usually, occupation authorities has tightened entry into the mosque since the morning, only elderly were allowed to enter. However, this quickly changed and all Muslim worshippers of all ages were denied entering into Al-Aqsa Mosque, the first qiblah of Muslim.

At the same time, Police allowed Jewish fanatics to enter the Muslim holy compound in the morning to walk around and hold rituals freely.

The action violates the status quo at the Mosquo, which says it is a purely Muslim worship area. (T/RE1/P2)
