Palestinian Water Authority Opens Meeting in Ramallah

Ramallah, MINA – Palestinian Water Authority Chief Mazen Ghoneim opens regular meetings of the water sector working group that includes international donors, UN organizations, ministries, members, and civil society partners, IPC reported on Friday, September 20.

He said more than 30 Palestinian housing communities currently live without water sources, still relying on primitive and unsafe ways of drinking water.

“The impact of serious economic and political conditions is felt in the water sector, especially after the cessation of total The United States (US) aid for the entire water sector and sanitation,” said Ghoneim.

According to him, there are six projects that have been completely terminated due to the termination of US aid, estimated to be worth around the US $ 20 million.

Ghoneim said the water crisis was also created by Zionists along with the plan to expand settlements for its citizens, by displacing and removing water facilities from Palestinian housing.

In addition, Israel systematically also cuts cleanliness funds to pressure Palestinian people.
