Ramallah, MINA – President Mahmoud Abbas is scheduled to arrive in the Saudi capital Riyadh on Monday for an official visit, according to Bassam al-Agha, Palestine’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia.
Agha told Voice of Palestine radio that President Abbas will meet with Saudi King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz and Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman.
Abbas will discuss with the Saudi King and the Crown Prince bilateral relations as well as brief them on the latest developments in the Palestinian issue, he said.
It is quite likely that talks will focus on Jared Kushner and Jason Greenblatt’s recent visit to Saudi Arabia. However, economic assistance to the Palestinian Authority and rehabilitation of the Gaza Strip post-Palestinian reconciliation will also be discussed.

The Saudis are also likely to raise the issue of Iran’s involvement with Palestinians, particularly in light of senior Hamas officials’ recent trip to Iran and after Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah cited a united front between Iran, Hamas and Hezbollah. (T/RS5/RS1)
