China has long been North Korea’s largest and strongest ally.
White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer told reporters that President Donald Trump’s meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Florida two weeks ago “is clearly showing some positive signs.”
“I think it’s encouraging to see China continue to move forward and join us in this effort to control North Korea,” he said.
“China continues to have both economic and political influence over [North Korea].”
