Jakarta, MINA – Sri Mulyani Indrawati has officially concluded her term as Minister of Finance, a position she held since October 2019, by handing over the role to Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa.
The handover ceremony took place at the Ministry of Finance on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. This follows Purbaya’s official swearing-in as Finance Minister by President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace on Monday, September 8, 2025.
During the ceremony, Sri Mulyani addressed the ministry’s staff, saying her goodbyes after multiple terms leading the institution. She urged them to continue their work of managing the state’s finances to be used for the benefit of the Indonesian people.
“To the Ministry of Finance staff, I entrust you to continue safeguarding the state’s finances and the Ministry of Finance as a pillar of stability and an extraordinarily important instrument for realizing social justice for all Indonesians, the welfare of the Indonesian people, and the progress of the nation,” Sri Mulyani stated.

She also advised the staff to remain trustworthy and maintain their integrity in their work. “Carry out and continue your duties with trust, professionalism, competence, and always maintain integrity. Help the new leader and continue to carry out your duties with dedication,” she said.
Consistent with her previous statements, Sri Mulyani once again reminded the public to never stop loving Indonesia.
“I bid farewell this morning. Greetings to all and success to everyone present. Never forget to love Indonesia,” she concluded.
Sri Mulyani has served as Minister of Finance under several administrations, from President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono to Prabowo Subianto. In total, she has held the position for 13 years. However, she is not the longest-serving Finance Minister; that record belongs to Prof. Dr. Ali Wardhana. []
