Rusia Condemns US’s Recognition of Golan

Amman, MINA – Russian Foreign Minister (FM), Sergey Lavrov condemned the United States’s recognition of Golan Heights belongs to Israel.

“We condemn illegal US’s recognition of Golan dan Al-Quds (Jerusalem),” Lavrov said while joint press conference with Yordania FM, Ayman Safari in Amman capital, Anadolu Agency (AA) reported on Sunday.

A month ago, US President, Donald Trump recognized Golan Heights belongs to Israel that It was occupied by Israel on 1967.

“We have diacussed Middle East political settlement and we concerned for what happening in Palestine,” Lavrov said.

He emphasize Moskow’s support to complete the conflict Palestine-Israel base on two state solution and stress it that there are no other solution.

Commenting on the so-called “agreement of the century”, the US plan to achieve a peaceful settlement between Palestine and Israel, Lavrov said, “We have no information about that, but speculation triggered deep concern.”

Meanwhile, Ayman Safadi said there was “ongoing Russian-Jordanian dialogue on the Syrian crisis, and we are working within the framework of international community to achieve a political solution.”

“The only solution to the Palestinian-Israeli struggle is to end the Israeli occupation,” Safadi said.
