Pekanbaru, MINA – Riau Police Chief Inspector General Herry Heryawan revealed that Indonesian Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka is planning to visit Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing) Regency to watch the Pacu Jalur Festival, scheduled to take place from August 20 to 24.
“God willing, the Vice President will attend. We must ensure that guests coming to the event do not experience forest and land fires (Karhutla) in Kuansing. It would be an embarrassment for all of us,” said the Riau Police Chief during a fire prevention evaluation meeting held at the Riau State Building in Pekanbaru on Tuesday, as reported by Riaupos.com.
Herry emphasized the importance of maintaining a safe and healthy environment ahead of the annual cultural event, which is also expected to be attended by officials and international guests.
Previously, the Vice President had shown his enthusiasm for the Pacu Jalur tradition through a post on his personal Instagram account, @gibran_rakabuming. In a 17 second video clip, Gibran featured a child dancing at the tip of a canoe during the race, accompanied by the trending background music “Yong Black and Rich” associated with the viral “aura farming” trend.
