REPORT: 90 ISRAELI VIOLATIONS AGAINST JOUNALISTS IN OCTOBER
Ramallah, 26 Muharram 1436/8 November 2015 (MINA) – The Palestinian Union of radio stations and televisions has reported the occurrence of 90 violations and assaults by Israeli security and military forces against Palestinian journalists and media workers during the first month of al-Quds intifada, which started in early October.
According to a recent report released by the union, 55 journalists suffered injuries from live ammunition, live bullets, tear gas and stun grenades, and physical assaults, The Palestinian Information Center (PIC) quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.
The union also said that 14 incidents of detention against journalists and media workers happened during the reporting month.
In one of these arrest incidents, Israeli soldiers used journalists working for Palestine satellite channel as a human shield during clashes with young men as they were throwing stones and Molotov cocktails.(T/P008/R03)
