PCPA Calls for Supporting Hunger Strikers in Their Battle for Dignity
Istanbul, MINA – The Popular Conference for Palestinians Abroad (PCPA) has urged the Palestinian people from all spectra, the Arab and Islamic peoples and the world’s free people to stage and participate in daily events and activities in support of the Palestinian hunger strikers in Israeli jails.
In a statement on Saturday following a meeting in Istanbul, the general secretariat of the Popular Conference said it would employ all it has to support the Palestinian prisoners in their battle for dignity until they succeeded in extracting their legitimate and just rights, PIC reported.
Its statement called on the leadership of the Palestinian Authority to renounce its ‘shameful” security cooperation with the Israeli occupation and the “disastrous” Oslo accord.
The Popular Conference also applauded Jordan’s position on Occupied Jerusalem and the Islamic and Christian holy sites in the city and its rejection of giving the Palestinians a substitute homeland or resettling them in the country.
It urged the Arab League to adopt and support the Jordanian positions and hailed Lebanon, Kuwait and Malaysia for their supportive stances towards the Palestinian people and their rights.
It also condemned some Arab regimes for taking steps towards normalizing relations with the Israeli occupation state, describing their positions as “treason against the central cause of the Arab nation.”(R/R04/P2)
