Ramallah, 14 Muharram 1437/27 October 2015 (MINA) – Palestinian NGOs yesterday denounced the assault on the leftist Palestinian Member of Parliament Mustafa Barghouti, local news agency Sawa reported.

The assault on Barghouti, who is the secretary-general of the Palestinian Initiative, took place on Saturday night while he was in front of his house in the West Bank city of Ramallah.

“This suspicious assault comes at the time when the popular uprising against the aggression of the Israeli occupation is increasing,” the NGO said in a statement. Middle East Monitor (MEMO) reported

The statement also said: “The NGOs Network considers this assault as a dangerous act and calls for an investigation to be opened into the incident to reveal the identity of the assailants.”
