PALESTINE PM WILL NOT ATTEND ASIAN-AFRICAN CELEBRATION IN BANDUNG
Jakarta, 4 Rajab 1436/23 April 2015 (MINA) – The Director General for Asia Pacific and Africa of Indonesian Foreign Ministry, Yuri Thamrin, said Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah will not attend the closing ceremonial of 60th Asian-African commemoration in Bandung on April 24, 2015.
“Not all heads of state will attend the Bandung event, including Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah,” Yuri told reporters on the second day of the leaders Summit, Thursday.
Yuri continued, “I don’t know the definite reason of the prime minister’s absence, probably will be replaced with the Palestine ambassador for Indonesia.”
He also said eight other heads of government will also not attend the celebration of the last day in Bandung, such as Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, the King of Jordan King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein, the Sultan of Brunei Hassanal Bolkiah, President of China Xi Jinping, Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Seychlles Vice President Danny Faure, President of Iran Hassan Rouhani, and the delegation of Vanuatu.
“A total of 22 VVIP guests who will be in bandung as well as hundreds of delegates and other ministerial level,” said Yuri.
He explained some delegates are going to use private aircrafts, including Myanmar, Vietnam, China, Malaysia and Angola.
During the celebration in Bandung tomorrow, there will be inauguration of the Asian-African monument, as well as a luncheon of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo and Bandung Mayor Ridwan Kamil.(L/R04/R03)
