Gaza, 17 Jumadil Akhir 1438/16 March 2017 (MINA) – The Palestinian government announced Wednesday that hundreds of citizens affected by the 2014 Israeli war on the Gaza Strip would start receiving financial aid from the USD 200 million Kuwaiti grant agreement signed in 2015.

In a press statement published by Palestine’s official news agency (WAFA), Minister of Public Works and Housing Mufid Al-Hasayna said the government would provide USD 4.5 million for citizens with destroyed houses.

He added that 550 Palestinians have benefitted from the Kuwaiti grant.

The Israeli war of July 2014 lasted about 50 days and have killed and injured thousands of Palestinians, while causing huge damage to buildings and infrastructures.

Israel’s death toll stands at 64 soldiers and six civilians, including a four-year-old boy who died after a Hamas rocket hit a house in Eshkol.  (T/RS5/RS1)
