Gaza, MINA – Palestine Scholars Association and muslim/">International Union of Muslim Scholars – Palestine staged on Wednesday a solidarity sit-in with Rohingya Muslims who are subjected to awful crimes in Myanmar (Burma).
A number of Mulsim scholars and university lecturers along with some national figures participated in the event that was held in the main headquarters of the Association in Gaza city, PIC reported.
Marwan Abu Ras, head of the Association, said that Palestinian Muslim scholars strongly condemn the dreadful crimes being committed against Muslims in Myanmar and slammed the international community for its silence towards the appalling massacres against Muslims in that Asian country.
Abu Ras called on the United Nations to abide by its responsibilities of protecting civilians and asked human rights organizations to fairly deal with Muslims without applying double standard policies.

He called on all countries in the world to take serious action in order to protect the oppressed Muslims in Myanmar. (T/R04/RS5)
