MK SEEKS TO TRANSFORM ISLAMIC SITE TO SERVE JEWISH WOMEN

         Al-Quds (Jerusalem), 24 Dzulhijjah 1434/28 October 2013 (MINA) – Al-Aqsa Foundation said Sunday in a statement that MK Aliza Lavie from the party “Yesh Atid” seeks to transform an Islamic site located next to the Al-Aqsa Mosque for bathing and sanitizing to serve religious Jewish women,”

        The foundation considered this move as a blatant violation against Al-Aqsa Mosque and the ancient Islamic monuments, Alray, Palestinian Media Agency quoted by Mi’raj News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

        The MK promised during the meeting held recently in the Knesset, to work on the restoration of the historical Islamic landmark.

         She said that her promise comes in response to the request of “Women for Temple” organization and as being the head of the Commission on the progress of women in the Israeli Knesset, and in addition to being the Chairperson of the Committee for archaeology.

         Islamic Resistance Movement-Hamas has warned the Israeli occupation against continuing its crimes against Al-Aqsa Mosque and its affiliated sanctuaries in occupied Jerusalem.

         Hamas said in a press release on Monday that the aggressive attacks are aimed to erase the Islamic identity of the Jerusalem, adding “our people will confront and fight such aggressive moves,”

        It said that the Israeli occupation was intensifying its crimes and Judaization campaigns against Jerusalem, the Aqsa Mosque, and historical Islamic landmarks.

        The statement called on the Organization of the Islamic Conference, the Arab League, UNESCO to take its real role in putting an end to the Israeli occupation’s undeterred aggression. (T/P02/E1)
