Middle East Peace Not Materialized Before Palestine Get Independence

Jakarta,  2 Jumadil Awwal 1437/10 February 2016 (MINA) – The Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Retno Lestari Priansari Marsudi said, Middle East peace will not come true before Palestinian get the independence.

Retno stressed that the realization of Palestinian independence is very important and become the main agenda to establish peace in the Middle East besides peace efforts between Saudi Arabia and Iran.

“The Palestinian Independence is very important to materialize middle east peace, said Retno in the Meeting with Commission I, House of Representatives at the Parliamentary Building, Tuesday (9/2).

Palestinian conflict becomes the main attention for Indonesian government. One of the way of its support for them is providing continuous support, capacity building training, and hold international conference to raise international support.

Moreover, she continued, Saudi and Iran conflict must be resolved because the role of the two countries is very important for the sustainability of the Middle East.

Retno also stated, Middle East countries are supporting Indonesia’s economic development.

In addition,President  Joko Widodo has sent Message of Peace letter to Saudi Arabia and Iran. “It is one of Indonesia’s efforts to unite the two countries in the Middle East to create better condition in Middle East so the Palestinian independence could be realized soon,” she added.(L/P008/R03)
